Hamilton County Historian

This website describes the services, collections and resources of the public historian for Hamilton County, NY. Hamilton County is located in the Adirondack mountains, one of two counties situated entirely within the Adirondack Park's "Blue Line" border. The Historian's office is located in the basement of the County Courthouse, just off Route 8 in Lake Pleasant. The current Historian is Ernest D. Virgil.  Previous Hamilton County Historians include Dr. Eliza Jane Darling, Bill Zullo, Paul Wilbur, Ted Aber and Stella King.
